The custom software boutique

Code is abundant. Taste and judgment aren’t.

The barefoot atelier, the custom software boutique

Coding is not the art. It is knowing what to do, and when, where, and how to do it. Fine programming is not writing nor wiring pieces of technical mumbo jumbo, it is first creating in your mind an abstract machine, imagining ways to turn it from supercomplex and brittle to simple and robust, and finally landing such ideas into actual polished applications.

We are barefoot because we walk on the software step by step, with agility and sensibility, growing it organically, making sure it be elegant and beautiful.

The wings of imagination

Wing I · Collections

Collection websites

Give the files a public life.

Bring the backup, the programmes and recordings, the loose scans, the PDFs whose links vanished years ago. Their names, dates, neighbours and folders already carry a shape; the finished publication reads that shape, keeps uncertainty visible, and lets the collection speak before anyone has spent a season cataloguing it.

Wing II · Data

Data websites

Turn your database into an informational website people can actually explore.

Turn a database, spreadsheet, export, or API into a clear website where people can search its subjects, follow relationships, compare what matters, and understand what the data has to say.

Wing III · Commissions

Custom software

Commission the missing piece.

An unusual website, a publication drawn from thousands of documents, an image pipeline, an algorithm taken from the mathematics, a converter with thirty years of strange input ahead of it, a payment path, or the exact joint that lets two stubborn systems meet. Or something that has no name yet.

The restoration wing

Wing IV · Restoration

Digital restoration

For works that have aged.

A website gathers history as people change it, campaigns end, systems move, and unfinished pieces remain in public. Restoration begins by seeing the whole thing clearly: what still belongs, what has drifted, what quietly broke, and what deserves to be preserved.
